Very close to the town of Corfu, the area of Kanoni draws visitors due to the combination of beautiful natural environment and history – since opposite the tiny, historic islet of Pontikonissi you will find the Monastery of Panayia Vlacherna. You can arrive in Kanoni and then head to the Monastery of Vlacherna or you can approach the Monastery from the area of Perama, through the existing walkway connecting Perama with the wider area of Kanoni.
